Asymptomatic Covid Tester
The year is 2021, and it's your first year on college campus!… but still during a pandemic. So, you decide to channel your interest in IoT into solving something annoying you: those long COVID check-ins required on campus. That’s exactly the situation I found myself in during my first year at USC, which led me to create A3ST.
This project gave me firsthand experience in building a workable prototype in a short amount of time and taught me how to think through scaling and marketing a product, as well as how to take an complex product from concept to execution.

Building this project gave me a solid understanding of modern sensors—their capabilities, how they work, and the exciting potential of embedded development. Of course, it also highlighted some of the challenges that come with it! Along the way, I honed skills beyond engineering, including product photography, BOM optimization, and video editing. Looking back, I think it’s clear just how far I’ve come since my freshman year!
